In-class writing/#13

During the course of learning about different masters' theories in acting area, I have known that acting can also has its specific method to make it successful and truthful. For example, Constantin Stanislavski focuses six major points when acting, which means an actor has to think about the questions like "Who/where am I?", "What time is it?", and "What/why do I want?". These questions are important for an actor to think about the world of the play and therefore help express the character' personalities better. Most of the acting techniques mention that using imagination is pretty useful for an actor to achieve his goal in playing the specific role.

I think Sanford Meisner's acting technique is helpful enough for me to play my role as Lady Capulet. "Live truthfully under imagination" reveals that I don't need to use emotional memories to play my character. Instinctively react to the changing surrounding environments provides a better outlook of my role. And the audience will think they are not watching a play but are really involved in the story. That's my goal when acting as Lady Capulet.
